Yes, that's right, Annie's Cocktail Lounge is officially closing it's doors at 15 Boardman Alley on December 31st. Miss Annie and Sean K - long time friend's and fellow bartender from the Kilowatt and Slim's - are opening a new space at the former CW Saloon and soon to be former Cherry Bar. It's gonna be renamed "Annie's Social Club" and we hope to have the doors open in the early part of January.
Yes, karaoke will continue in the back (in the very intimate) peepshow room - on which and how many nights will be up to the hostesses for sure. Live music will also happen along with ROCK DJ nights.
I'm excited for Annie and Sean (and the rest of the staff) as this will be a new and very cool spot opening in SF. Closing night at Annie's Cocktail Lounge will be on December 31st., but come on down during the rest of December to say good bye.
*now, where am I gonna go for my nice quiet Friday nights? Annie did mention that she'll have an "old man" space for me and Jason (and other old farts that come down on Friday).

Although I'll be sad to see Annie's Cocktail Lounge go (any idea what's happening with that space?), the beginning of Annie's Social Club is really exciting. And I'm spinning at the Cherry Bar on New Year's Eve. Which, in a way, means that I'll finally be able to say that I spun at Annie's. Well, pre-Annie's, anyway.

The Saturday night offical closing party will be chock full of DJs and dancing and drinking and photos and 'remember when...' -

What we REALLY need is a new place to 80's dance (I know--I'm the moderator of the 1984 Tribe) because '84 has jumped the shark!
Karaoke AND 80's and all the lovely folks from Annies. I would have died and gone to heaven were that to occur.
