Oh, don't worry...when I speak of drinking "spider monkeys", I don't mean that you would actually be taking one of the cute creatures pictured in the link above, putting it into a blender, starting at chop, boosting it up to puree, then finishing it off for 30 seconds at liquefy, and pouring it into chilled martini glass. No, sick people! What kind of inhumane fuckhead do you think I am? What I'm talking about is the SPIDER MONKEY, a fruity tiki-inspired cocktail from everyone's favorite Portrero Hill district tiki bar (is there another one?), THE LINGBA LOUNGE. I've had the drink twice now, and it is simply fabulous. It even comes with a little plastic monkey who's prehensile tail allows it to hang onto the side of your glass while you're sipping away at it.
Oh, and in case the drinks don't interest you and you don't get enough of me being the most crass, drunk, and beligerant emcee since Chuck Barris on the old Gong Show at Leisure, I'll be hosting karaoke there from 9PM to 12 Midnight. Hope to see you all there. And PLEASE, if, once I'm done there, someone could wheel me off to some other party happening around town, I would forever be appreciative.
The Lingba Lounge is at 1498 18th Street at Connecticutt in the heart of the Portrero Hill district. Karaoke goes on from 9PM-12AM. PLEASE GET DRUNK AT ANNIE'S FIRST THOUGH BEFORE GOING TO LINGBA! (Gotta love these pro-Annie's Cocktail Lounge edits that I've placed in this version of the announcement post!)
So, BE THERE OR BE SQUARE Saturday and Sunday night...actually don't be there just to prevent from being square, be there BECAUSE I NEED YOUR TIPS!
